- Activity- Intro to Thinking Marshmallow Tower Challenge
- Please listen carefully to all instructions. If you miss anything, please refer to the instructions below.
- You will be assigned to a team. You and your team will have 18 minutes to create a structure out of spaghetti, yarn, and tape that will support a marshmallow. The team that creates a structure that supports the marshmallow at the highest height, will receive a prize.
- Materials
- 20 sticks of dry spaghetti
- 1 yd of string
- 1 yd of tape
- 1 marshmallow
- As said before, you and your group have 18 minutes to complete this task. Let your imagination go wild!
- I will measure each group's tower at the end of 18 minutes to determine the winner. When we are finished, we will disuss the following questions and watch the following video.
- What would allow one group to do much better than another group?
- What would hinder specific people or groups from producing a capable tower?
