Day 3- Toddler (18 months – 3 years)
- Development- explain

- Preoperational
- Explain what your baby’s behavior based on Piaget’s preoperational stage
- Erickson
- Autonomy vs shame/doubt
- Explain child behavior based on the Autonomy v Shame/doubt stage developed by Erickson
- Vygotsky
- Explain something that your child is learning to do. Must include what they can do independently, what they can do with help (ZoPD), and what they cannot do, even with help.
- Language
- Describe the language your baby is using on this day based on language milestones covered in our last unit
- Conflict
- You will be assigned a “conflict” that your child experience.
- What will you do and say to your egg baby?
- What parenting style will you use to handle the situation?
- Your response to these conflicts needs to be detailed in all aspects of the situation, your emotions, your actions, your parenting style. You must also be sure to include which psychological stage of development your egg is in at the time of the conflict and explain why you feel your egg is having this conflict (and how you as a parent can help your egg as it struggles) You will need to use each different theory at least ONCE.

- Starts potty training
- Wants to sleep in your bed everynight…and it kicks like a mule preventing you from sleeping
- Has started flushing objects down the toilet
- Toddler lies to you for the first time
- Biting others/being physical with other kids
- They are two years old and still not talking… what do you do?
